MediaStream Live 2.0

LightCast MediaStream Live is an all new live streaming framework designed for multi-platform delivery to Desktop, mobile and set-top devices.

About the network:

  • Dallas, TX - With direct connections to 6 different backbones and local peering connections that directly reach all major consumer ISPs and over 350Gbits of capacity, the Dallas data center is at the heart of our network.
  • Chicago, IL - Multi-gigabit connections to 11 major networks.
  • Washington, DC - Direct connections to 6 major backbones and local peering connections that directly reach all major consumer ISPs. 230Gbps network capacity.
  • Los Angeles, CA - Our LA data center is optimized for serving clients on the West Coast of the United States and viewers in Asia. We have direct peering with HiNet in Taiwan and ChinaTelecom to improve connections to the growing number of high-speed internet users in Asia.
  • Miami, FL (Coming Nov 2011) - Our Miami data center is optimized for serving the Latin American market.

Multiple Platform Support:

  • Flash Player * - Version 10.1 or higher is recommended. Supports low latency streaming and high resolution output.
  • Apple iPhone, iPod Touch * - Supports fallback to audio-only if connection is weak. Minimum latency, 30 seconds.
  • Apple iPad * - Supports high quality streams and fallback to audio-only if connection is weak. Minimum latency, 30 seconds.
  • Android Phones * - Devices with Android 2.2 or higher support Flash Player
  • Android Tablets * - Devices with Android 2.2 or higher support Flash Player. Devices with android 3.0 or higher support Apple HLS for a more reliable connection on mobile networks.
  • Roku * - Supports Apple HLS. Requires custom program to produce a channel
  • Samsung TV * - Supports Apple HLS. Requires custom program to produce a channel
  • Google TV * - Supports Flash, including high resolution streams with low latency
